Christian education has always been a priority for the
people of St. Paul’s and remains so to this day. Since the creation St.
Paul’s Lutheran Church and School in 1899, members have seen it as their
privilege to support elementary Christian Education within their
congregation. At St. Paul’s, students are taught the “one thing needed”, the
good news of salvation in Jesus Christ and life eternal through faith in him.
This is why St. Paul’s School exists: so that children may learn of their
Savior Jesus and grow in their relationship with him. Only by the grace and
power of God is this possible. Therefore God’s Word is taught on a daily
basis through use of the Bible, Luther’s Catechism and Bible History books.
Through these means, faith is nourished, and students are shown the love of
their Savior and motivated to serve him out of joy and thankfulness.
When asked, “What do you appreciate most about your
congregation’s Christian Day School/Preschool,” St. Paul’s parents said...
“…that the teachers know each student personally.”
“Our child has the opportunity for a Christ-centered
education.”
“…Faithful dedicated teachers who share the one thing
needful with our children.”
Religion is not just another subject in the curriculum.
Students receive the benefit of having all subjects such as…
language arts
science
mathematics
social studies
arts
Spanish
physical education
computer class
…taught from a Christian point of
view. In the light of God’s Word, the Lord’s glory, power, majesty and
wisdom are reflected throughout every subject.
Qualified, Christian teachers see their students as
blessings from the Lord and their time in the classroom as an opportunity to
serve their Savior while serving their students. Throughout the day, students
see faith in action as it is displayed by their teacher’s words, actions,
attitudes and even discipline. Small class sizes allow teachers to give
individual attention to students, and develop a relationship with students and
parents.
Upper grade teachers are using the specific abilities the
Lord has given to each in a departmentalized (middle school) system. Each
teacher is assigned a subject in which they are
especially qualified. Each teacher then moves from class to class teaching
those subjects to all of the upper grade classes.
Bussing – Bussing is offered to all children living in
the area. Contact the school office for specific information.
Hot Lunch – Each day the children of St. Paul’s have
the opportunity to take hot lunch served by the school cafeteria staff.
Computer – A complete computer lab is available for
students.
Special Needs Teacher – For those students who need
additional help and attention, St. Paul’s has a special needs teacher on
staff.
Band & Piano – Our students are encouraged to develop
the musical gifts with which the Lord has blessed them with the assistance
of band and piano teachers who come to school weekly.
Middle Sports Program – Joint sports teams made up of
students from area WELS schools have recently formed. This allows students
from smaller schools to participate in sports otherwise unavailable to them,
and for the kids to get to know their fellow Christians.
“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder
them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these”
Matthew 19:14
St. Paul’s Lutheran Preschool serves the families of our
congregation and community by offering a Christ-centered education that
prepares children for kindergarten. While learning the ABC’s and 1,2,3’s,
they learn the more important message that Jesus died on the cross to take
away all their sins so that they can go to heaven. These little ones hear how
Jesus has made them part of the kingdom of God!
Both a 3-year-old and 4-year-old program
