Math Instruction at St. Paul’s:
Mathematics is a spiraling subject, which means that skill and knowledge gained in math builds upon itself.
This is why it is so important to review previous lessons, even as new skills are taught. Students at St. Paul's do this continuously throughout the school year.
We believe that not all students learn at the same pace, especially in math. This is why St. Paul's offers 1-1 tutoring for students in need of extra help, along with computer software which provides extra practice for students with specific areas of need.
St. Paul's offers math instruction through Algebra 1, providing opportunity for students to "test out" of this course in high school.
We have adopted the 2010 revision of the Michigan State Math Standards. The link below provides more information about these standards including specific grade-level objectives.
